Athlete & guardian information
Waiver, release & assumption of risk

Assumption of Risk. Football is a physical sport with an inherent risk of injury. I understand these risks and voluntarily allow my child to participate in Montego Bay United Academy (“MBUA”) training sessions, matches, camps, and related travel.

Release & Waiver of Liability. In consideration of my child's participation, I release MBUA, its coaches, volunteers, and Montego Bay United FC from claims arising from ordinary risks of participation, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Medical Authorization. I authorize MBUA staff to obtain emergency medical treatment for my child if I cannot be reached, and to share relevant medical information with treating providers.

Code of Conduct. I understand MBUA expects respectful behavior from athletes, parents, and guardians at all sessions, matches, and camps, and that the academy may decline or discontinue participation for serious or repeated breaches.

Media Release (optional — tell the academy in writing if you'd rather opt out). I allow MBUA to use photos or video of my child for academy promotion.

This waiver is a general template provided for convenience and has not been reviewed by a Jamaican attorney. Families should read it carefully; the academy should have it reviewed for legal sufficiency before relying on it.

Camps & clinics run a sample rate of J$5,000/week and the uniform kit is a one-time J$8,000 — confirmed at signup. Payment links by age group are above under Programs & Pricing.

Our Philosophy

THE MOBAY WAY

The Montego Model blends two of the world’s proven academy systems — Spain’s Juego de Posición and the Netherlands’ Total Football — built specifically for Caribbean players and Jamaican culture.

S Speed

Explosive pace, agility, and endurance developed to each player’s own stage of growth — Caribbean athleticism channelled with technical purpose.

U Unity

Positional support, pressing as a team, and combination play. Every player learns to see teammates as extensions of themselves.

T Technique

The non-negotiable foundation. Hundreds of touches every session, two-footed comfort, and composure under pressure from day one.

L Leadership

Resilience, communication, and competitive character, built deliberately through the challenges of training and competition.

M Mentality

The belief that our players belong on the biggest stage — built through exposure to the first team and Jamaica’s football heritage.

Development over results

No trophies celebrated at U12 and below. At every age, growth is the only scorecard that matters.

School comes first

From U13 up, training schedules work around the school timetable, not the other way around. No player chooses between football and education.

A visible pathway

The MBU senior team is the destination our players train toward from day one — not an abstract idea, but a team they train alongside as they progress.

“Talent is everywhere in Jamaica. What has been missing is the system to develop it. That changes here.”
